2025 was a wild ride
If you’ve been following along (and if you haven’t, it’s fine, I’ll tell you anyway), you’re aware that I restarted my career in 2023.
After 5 years working for an e-commerce company, I shifter gears and went back to being a freelancer at the end of 2022. I decided to start fresh — and that meant an entire new body of work.
One of the first images I created right after leaving my job.
In that sense, 2023 (and 2024, to some extent) was a year for rebuilding. Creating new images, finding new clients and contacts and updating myself on how the industry was doing.
So 2025 was supposed to be the big one. And it was. Kind of. Had some international clients, added a new page to my portfolio with interiors/hospitality and worked a lot with people and portraits again, which is something that I had been steering away from, but somehow it keeps coming back. No complaints there! Also got to work with some great new clients who picked me for my specific style of work, yay! That’s one of the best feelings ever.
Not everything was great, though, and I feel like 2026 can improve on a few things so here are my wishes for this year:
To find (more of) the kind of clients who would want to work with me for my creative skills
Less social media, more print
More summer-related campaigns, please!
Bigger budgets!
To keep improving my skills and attending a workshop
To teach a workshop as well
More personal work
I feel like these are pretty reasonable wishes, right?
I’ll leave you with some of my favorites projects from 2025. Let me know your thoughts.
